Yining Shang 商艺凝 (she/they) is a theater director and stage manager from Beijing, China. She is currently at Columbia University MFA Stage Management class of 2028. As a theater maker, Yining is interested in creating opportunities for voices not heard enough in this world. She devote herself in creating a safe and creative space in the rehearsal room and give her full support to everyone in the creative process. She believes in the magic of team work and bringing out the best of everyone's ability. They also have a focus on Traditional Chinese theater, especially Jingju 京剧, also known as Peking Opera. Outside of theater, Yining is also interested in photography and video editing.
